So, Jun Jie's birthday was approaching,

and kimmy had not bought anything for him yet.

She already had in mind the present for him- a wallet from "Braun Baffle".

So off we went Orchard hunting for that brand.

She was really choosy (lols! Which is good, because you only want the best for him :]) when it came to choosing the right one for his 18th/ 21st birthday (I'm not so clear :x)

Choosing a wallet, having me and the salesgirl beside her gave her additional pressure -_-''

Come to think of it, what is the best or even the most unique birthday gift that you have received from someone?

I got one.

From my good friends from my Secondary 1 and 2 school days- Wee Leng and Shi Wan.

It was rather unique.

The story goes a long way back.

In my Secondary 1 and 2 years, I had a small crush (it's faded now) on my choir senior- Shao Wei :x

The whole choir knew about it, but putting that aside,

both of them decided to film him singing the birthday song for me on the day of my birthday.

So, off they both went armed with a video-cam in search of his classroom before the morning bell rang.

They caught him outside the classroom door and "forced" him to sing the birthday song with my name in it -_-''

Needless to say, I was superbly embarrassed when they came down back to our classroom and presented me with my "gift".

Oh my gosh.

I was bewildred, never thinking that they would do something like this and scare the hell out of me.

You could have imagined my embarrassment as I watched the video of Shao Wei with that weird look on his face as he sang the song.

Moreover, Shao Wei and I, we don't really talk to each other during choir practices,

or should I say that he "kept his distance" from me.

Anyway, it was rather interesting that my birthday gift would come in this form.

I think it's a good laugh, now.

Something totally different and unexpected, but funny now that I think of it.

Some get-together session got organized.

Finally.

A badminton chalet.

Woohoo!

Initially, I thought that it would be rather mundane,

insanely boring, leaving me with so much time to spare and absolutely nothing to do.

I made sure to pack my "Boredom-Dissolver-Kit" which consisted of my handphone and earpiece.

One thing I really did not think would actually happen was that I would be talking much more to either Wei Hao or even Seng Hong.

From the time I came into badminton until now, I haven't really talked to Seng Hong, and I guess that that one time we talked was the time when my muscles cramped and he came over to help.

I heard from the others that when you get to know him, you would realize that he is the lame kind,

and boy was he lame.

Wei Hao, a.k.a. Sembawang teamed up with that Alvin to bully me yet again.

Why am I not in the least surprised?

Throughout the Chalet, Alvin, James and Sembawang teased my height and for Alvin, more emphasis was put especially on my weight, eating habits and height.

Since no one brought any Karaoke Disc, we just plugged the microphone into the player and sang any songs we could think of.

And I think, I fell in love.

With Wei Hao's voice.

It was stunning.

:x

We rented bike on the second day and cycled from one end to the other.

And guess who we saw?

Jacob!!

He saw Li Shi.

He did not notice me at first.

But when he saw me, he called my Full Name -_-''

Then on our way back, we saw him again and he shouted "Dozzigirl!" as we passed each other.

The Chalet was like a a unification of the diversification, if you get what I mean.

But as long as we had enjoyed ourselves, what is there to worry?

These few days, I went over to four places in total.

Woohoo!

  1. Denzel's place
  2. Bryan's place
  3. Li Shi's place
  4. and finally Marina Square!!

The best time I had spent so far?

Is the time I spent at Bryan's and Marina Square with a few of my classmates.

Today was a "bluey-bluey" day.

In the morning, I jogged along a new path that Yi Jie recommended me.

It stretched all the way to Senja Grand and back again to my place.

All in all, the total number of traffic lights that I had to cross- 1. (Yea!)

But, it was rather isolated.

How should I put it?

"Jogger-less"?

I felt a little uneasy jogging there,

and I was on red alert because absolutely anything could jump out of those bushes and I would still know nothing about it until it appeared.

But apart from that, primarily, I jogged my guilt away.

For I sinned on Sunday.

We went eating steamboat-cum-bbq (Yuki Yaki I guess).

And you guessed it right! I gorged. Alot.

I sinned, but it was still on the "guilt-free side" at the end of the day.

Reason being that the whole buffet diet consisted of mainly vegetables and Salmon for me.

Why?

  1. Vegetables provide vitamin and yada yada yada.
  2. Salmon contains Omega 3 and the what nots. (It is an expensive fish by the way, so if it is on the menu, why not?) =x

Lester was trying to act all "Man" throughout the whole buffet, doing the barbecuing job and the getting of drinks.

So freaking cute and hilarious, the way he kept emphasizing that "He's THE man! 好man哦!"

The whole table would burst out laughing because of his pure randomness and me teasing him as one of us "姐妹们".

Eneida and Isabelle were as usual bickering over those teeny weeny matters (amicably).

Lester and I, we have been talking a whole lot about Korean dramas and Japanese anime since the middle of the semester.

We would get excited talking about them and he would start introducing new anime and dramas to me, telling me how it is a must see.

We went to a VCD stall in Marina Square and he dragged me over and said," There, there, there! This show!"

Lols!

He bought a new Korean Drama that features that guy boss from "Coffee Prince".

I am plotting to lay my hands on his DVD! (Hehehe! Evil grin.)

Anyway, Lester was the first to surrender.

He gave up eating first and said the very same words, when he got drunk that night out with Rowena and the others,"我不行了,我不行了!"

I was the last one standing :x or rather sitting to be exact.

I was savoring my salmon and the last few veggies on my bowl.

We had wanted to eat the "D.I.Y. ice-cream", but it got too late, so we cancelled that order :c

I kind of liked their concept.

Maybe we could eat again next time?

Esther and Kimmy and I could go eat too.

There is an outlet in Lot 1 Shopper Mall.

We could even go eat out too, with Paul, Jerry, Marcus, and maybe Tracey, Theresa and Jo. :x (Haha,Fat hope, maybe. Everyone's "Pia-ing" now. "Chiong-sters".)

Talking about food, grr... so hungry right now.

YEAH!

Later in the morning- off to Denzel's house!

With Yi Jie, Darryl Lee and etc...

Hope to get my hands on mahjong tiles again.

Must remember to bring Yi Jie's gift over and a pair of Mandarin oranges.

Then I'll be whizzing off to Bryan's house for more "Talk Cock" sessions with my childhood friends.

Ciao!

Off to get some sleep!

So, what's up?

Chinese New Year is here to stay, and I am kind of feeling that something in the air is different about it.

For me. Only this year, I guess.

Reason being that I am here in Singapore celebrating.

And when I say celebrating, I am genuinely celebrating.

The mood, the food, the people here.

Gosh.

At least there is someone I can visit.

Unlike those past few years spent in my mother's hometown, where I am stuck in that house.

With no place to run to;

no shopping centres to hang out;

only that less than perfect beach that I look forward to every evening before the sun sets;

no friends to visit;

no music (only olden day karaoke that my uncles and aunts sing);

no good movies/ dramas/ variety programs that I could seriously sit through;

plenty of cousins (more than 20 I guess) but none to talk to;

plenty of boredom to spare;

no mahjong;

plenty of blackjacks but the mood is just not there.

I love it here in Singapore.

I really do.

So, I am going to treasure Chinese New Year this year.

Who knows when is the next time I might still be here in Singapore celebrating?

I love you guys!

新年快乐!
我要学会知足!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I used to be indifferent.

About the art of the lion dance.

But.

That was a thing of the past now.

I thought,"Yea, those skills that they possessed, I'd never be able to do it. Great job, guys!"

Now, I'm indefinitely worrying for those guys, especially those jumping around under that "lion cape" or whatever jargons that you use to decribe that head dress.

What if they slipped and fell and sprained their ankles?

Oh my gosh.

Everytime I look at those performance, I think a lot.

I try to get a glimpse of the guy under that "cape",

hoping it is not one of my friends who has that deep interest in this art.

Be that drummer, be anything else other than the jumping lion :x

But I cannot change anything, can I? Lols!

Just be careful!! :)

It is 9 a.m. in the morning right now.

Well, at least I sent my sis to school already,

to the right school, that is (just kidding).

Next on my list
  1. Mend my shoes
  2. Go to Music Garage
  3. Buy Contacts, try and squeeze in a timeslot to buy Cotton on cardigans and leggings
  4. Meet up with Wen Xia, and if possible, squeeze Alloy in.
  5. Make it back in time to fetch my sis just before 3.30 p.m.

Tomorrow, at around 5a.m., my mum would not be in Singapore.

There might still be a little reluctance somewhere,

hidden and suppressed in one tiny and dark corner of my heart.
So the burden of household chores and the responsibility of my sis falls on me and me alone :c
From the usage of such a word, I guess you can imagine how much I love doing these chores.

But, well, a change of responsibility in the house won't hurt, will it?

Looking after my sis means ferrying back and forth from school to her tuition centres to her piano lessons.

That is working out in a gym and being a responsible sister all packed into one deal.

And that also means that I have to miss badminton practices and shopping treats.

I really hope Xiu Ling believes me when I tell her my mum is not in Singapore for like 2 over weeks.

I doubt she would even believe me.

Meanwhile, I think it is going to be rather boring on my side here.

What am I going to do when my sis is at school?

So boring!

Anyway, back in school, today was the last day of the last sem of my very first year here in R.P..

Teared a little while we hugged.

There was Wen Xia.

There was Nicola.

There was Rowena. I regret to say that the photos are over at her side :x
Rowena! Send send!

There was Eneida.

There was Isabelle and Firdaus too!
